About Alpina

Alpina Foods isn’t your typical American dairy company. And that’s a good thing, because we pride ourselves on thinking differently.

Our company started out as the dream of two Swiss entrepreneurs, Max Bazinger and Walter Goggel, who came to South America in the early 1940’s. When they found a place that felt like home, they built a modest artisan factory and used their Swiss traditions and expertise to create cheeses by hand. As tends to happen with honest-to-goodness products, Bazinger and Goggel’s cheeses were a huge success and their fame and factory quickly grew.

Years later, Alpina had become one of the most loved and respected brands in South America. Still, the company maintained its founders’ values of caring for its communities and continued to use fresh, locally produced milk and fruits in its products.

Fast forward several decades, and Alpina was taking on the challenge of opening its first office in the US. Here, Alpina decided to create something completely new.

That ‘something new’ was us, Alpina Foods, and we have since grown into one of the most dynamic, innovative, and creative companies in the dairy industry. To understand this new market, we didn’t just work with talented consulting and branding experts, but also with a famous psychologist and a renowned chef.

Then, we took what we knew and created delicious and wholesome yogurts. We know how hectic life can get, so we put into our products everything that we want to get out of them: delicious taste and all-natural, nutritious ingredients that make us feel great.
